“So you are the one causing me so much trouble?”
I heard someone say in a calm, silky smooth voice. It was one of the most lethal voices I had ever heard. My eyes widened and I shot strait up n bed realizing I wasn’t dreaming.
“Who are you?” I demanded.
Sure enough the queen herself emerged from the shadows. He black dress trailed after her and was slit up a little higher then her mid thy. It had only one thin strap and was about as low cut as you can get without having no top at all. Her tan flawless skin sparkled in the moonlight and her honey brown hair fell down in ripples to her waist. I had heard of how beautiful she was but damn, she was the kind you can’t even hate for it. She was younger then I might have guessed, a lot younger actually. She looked to be around 25. Was she really 14 when she became queen?
I sat there unable to move and far too horrified to speak. She came very close to me and held her hand out for me to take. She guided me off the bed and I felt very conscious of my silk night gown which was the only thing covering me. I am about 5’6 and she towered over me. Not only was she a tall woman she was also wearing very tall heals. I had never worn anything besides boots but they looked awfully uncomfortable.
She gently stroked my cheek and brushed my hair back behind my shoulder. Her deep brown eyes were almost hypnotizing and I found it impossible to look away from her.
“Now dear you can’t really be so unhappy with the life I have given you?” she cooed “Tell me, what makes you so unhappy?”
I sat there sputtering like and idiot unable to think. Her soft but deadly gaze held me and stilled my breath. Why was I so unhappy at home?
I couldn’t remember anything. Did I have a home? Where was I now? Was I at home? Did I have a family? What was I so angry about? How could I hate this woman so? It all melted away while I stared into her lovely face.
“You don’t even remember do you?” She said with false sympathy, “Well if you promise to behave from now on I’ll let you live and perhaps even allow you to return to that small little home of yours.”
Home? Where was home? Not here? Where was here? I had no idea what was going on. She began to guide me out onto the balcony. She let go of my hand and leaned over the wooden railing. She stared off at the waterfall flowing below us.
“I must say Kerry, you are not an easy person to track down. You must have some kind of charm or protection of some sort yes? Well never mind I got here before any damage was done.”
My tongue finally unglued itself and I asked “forgive me madam, but what is your name?”
She smiled slyly over her shoulder at me and turned again to face me.
“I suppose that wont cause any damage for you to know now will it? My name is Queen Sherry.”
She looked at me with such amusement in her eyes that I had to bite back asking her if she found me to be a clown of some form. Somewhere in the back of my mind I new there was something about that waterfall behind her that I needed to remember. Was I with someone? Why was I there at all?
“Well you know Kerry, you could be very useful to me in the future. I might even be willing to pay you to do a job or two for me.”
There was something about the way she spoke, she was toying with me in some way. This was wrong, all of it. Damn it if only I could remember why I was here!
“Kerry?” she said looking into my eyes.
It reminded me of the was Jamie used to look at me when I was in a daze and she finally man aged to rouse me back to the real world.
Wait…
“Jamie…” I whispered with my hand on my forehead trying to concentrate.
She had her killed. The woman in front of me is why my sister died. I felt my old rage begin to bubble in my veins. Bryan, he had been taken trying to protect her but it was all for not. She was killed anyway. My parents, they had been trying to protect us from her the night they were killed. The night this woman began to tear my family apart.
“Who is Jamie?” she asked with alarm in her voice. I could tell she was asking just to see if I would remember rather then for want of the knowledge.
I took some steps back away from her and glared with a knowing spark in my eye. Her eyes widened with shock which turned to anger.
“They said you would be able to resist my tricks but I was too confident I guess. No matter I’ll hair you out of my hair soon enough!” She barked pulling out a knife and attempting to stab me in the chest. I managed to grab hold of the knife just in time and tried to push her hand back. We both wound up against the wall somehow. My right and her left were being supported by the wood. When I realized I was beginning to loose my grip on the knife I took one hand of and grabbed a hand full of her hair. Pulling hard I slammed her head into the wall.
She let out a cry of pain and dropped the knife to the ground. I scrambled for it while she held her head. One hand over her wound she glared at me with a look that would have wilted most enemies in  their tracks.
“Not so much fun when the table are turn are they bitch?” I asked in a mocking tone. “You can’t hurt me woman. Now get the hell out of here before I decide I like you better in pieces.”
I have no idea what was compelling me to let her go, but trust me I regretted it later. Breathing heavily she swallowed her pride and chose life. She disappeared and suddenly reappeared behind me. Getting very slow to my ear she whispered venomously, “Don’t you ever forget, I can always hurt you.” She ran one of my raiser sharp fingernails from my neck to my wrist so fast I couldn’t blink and I cried in pain turning and catching her in the arm with the knife. She screamed and with one last glare disappeared.
I sat up in my bed screaming until Bryan and John ran in. Finally they calmed me down to where I was willing to tell them what happened. It had to have been a dream I realized. It was all just one big nightmare.
“Kerry what the..?” John started alarmed pulling the covers off my shoulders.
I looked at my right arm cover in blood from my neck to my wrist where I had been cut and it had run down all over my night gown and under arm. I put a trembling hand to the wound trying to convince myself it wasn’t real. Pulling my hand back covered in warm blood I let out a scream that echoed out into the darkness and so horrifying even the moonlight couldn’t hide.
